Hinckley, builder of premium jet boats and sailing craft, presents Dasher, its latest innovation which is also the first fully electric yacht.
For 90 years, the US-based company has clearly earned its place on the market. It is recognized for its high quality pleasure boats. Each of its boats is a perfect balance between proportion and detail. That’s the vision the company keeps in mind when it decides to build Dasher.
Dasher
Its name comes from the original Picnic Boat hull #1. It incorporates a carbon-epoxy composite hull shape by Michael Peters in order to offer the highest performance and handling.
The cruising speed of the yacht is 10 mph (16.09 km/h) with fast cruising at 18-27 mph (28.9-43.4 km/h). As for its range, one counts 40 miles at cruising speed and 20-25 miles at fast cruising speeds.
As far as 3D printing is concerned, titanium hardware and console details were 3D printed to obtain well-precise shapes and a level of precision that traditional methods could not deliver.
“The Hinckley Whisper Drive silent propulsion system combines the latest hydrodynamics, electric power and digital control systems to achieve the performance handling and maneuverability that discerning clients will expect,” said Peter O’Connell, President and CEO of The Hinckley Company.
A sustainable environment
The Hinckley Company takes into account the environment in the manufacturing of Dasher. The yacht can be fully charged in under 4 hours with dual 50 amp charging.
Quiet propulsion, zero emissions and zero time lost at the fueling dock make Dasher the best way to spend time on the water with family and friends, explains the company.
