Boeing qualifies Tekna as official supplier of additive manufacturing powders

Tekna has successfully completed metal powder qualifications with Boeing , qualifications which give the metal powders producer the ability to supply aerospace OEMs and their related additive manufacturing service bureaus.

Last time we talked about Tekna, the company had decided to focus its development strategy on the European market. Tekna usually operates in the shadow, and when they appear in our radar, the company is always up to offering something new within the metal additive manufacturing segment.

It’s been 30 years that Tekna has been developing plasma systems and spherical powders for AM applications. The producer’s powders are acknowledged for their high flowability, high density and high purity at controlled production costs. These properties can be reached utilizing the patented RF Plasma Technology.

“Tekna is proud to meet Boeing’s demanding BMS specification and to be its first qualified powder manufacturer for BMS Titanium (Ti64) and BMS Aluminum (AlSi10Mg). Furthermore, Tekna manages a robust supply chain, from ingot to packaged spherical powders, thus ensuring reliable supply and material traceability” says Luc Dionne, CEO at Tekna.

Furthermore, the fact that the company’s powder manufacturing centers meet the AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management system requirements give their entire team further credibility regarding the work they achieve for the industry.

Both certifications are now valid for the France-based facility, where its Nickel-based superalloy powders are produced (HX, 625, 718) as well as its Canadian plant, which was granted certification in 2017. The Canadian facility handles the production of Titanium and Aluminum powders.

“This certification reinforces our position as a major player offering personalized client approach in the market. We are delivering on our commitment: Powder on time, every time, everywhere,” says Rémy Pontone, VP Sales & Marketing at Tekna.
