To encourage handmade holidays for all, a US-based store named Joann, aims to establish itself as the one-stop destination for a personalized holiday season. The retail craft leader has refreshed the stores and has even launched the commercialization of 3D printers to enhance its customers’ shopping experience.
“At JOANN, we believe the only way to make this season better, is to make it yourself. We want to inspire crafters at any skill level to give the gift of something handmade,” said JOANN Stores Chief Customer Officer Chris DiTullio. “Whether it’s making for a charity, a handmade card, homemade cookies or personalized pajamas, we aim to inspire all to create this special time of year. And with less time between holidays this year, we’re providing customers with new omni-channel services and special promotions to get their shopping, crafting and decorating done early.”
New Crafting Technology
JOANN continues to make it easier and less time consuming to channel creativity with the introduction of new crafting technology. Today JOANN introduces 3D printers to its assortment, as the Polaroid PlaySmart 3D printer and 3D Sculpto printer are now available in the U.S. for the first time, exclusively at JOANN.
With these compact, portable 3D printers, people of all ages can create any project imaginable in as little as a few hours or even a matter of minutes – perfect for making personalized gifts or for inspiring a budding creator. Each 3D printer easily fits into your home, classroom or office environment and both come with software so you can seamlessly print items directly from your smartphone, tablet or PC.
“At JOANN, we’re continuously updating our offerings to ensure we’re evolving with our customers and maintaining our position as a leader in the retail craft space. This year, we are prioritizing innovations in crafting,” said Rob Will, Chief Merchandising Officer at JOANN. “Customers are asking for convenience and more time-efficient ways to create, and we’re bringing them new tools to bring their inspiration to life.”
The Polaroid and Sculpto 3D printers will be available in over 500 stores and online for $599.99 and $499.99, respectively.
In addition to 3D printers, JOANN continues to expand its investment in technologies including Cricut and Glowforge to allow anyone – even those who aren’t skilled crafters – to create personalized cards, t-shirts, home décor and more. JOANN boasts the biggest Cricut assortment on the planet, and announced its investment in startup Glowforge earlier this year.
