Most 3D printer manufacturers have understood the necessity of developing entry-level 3D printers to lower the barrier to adoption and attract first-time users. With entry-level platforms, they can nurture new customer segments — from educational institutions to small businesses — who might later scale up to industrial-grade machines.
The latest manufacturer to implement this strategy is Xjet, one of the few manufacturers that has built up expertise in high-value metal and ceramic 3D printing.
The OEM unveils the Carmel Pro, a new system designed to expand accessibility of its proprietary NanoParticle Jetting™ (NPJ) technology to SMEs, research centers and jewelry manufacturers.
The 3D printer enables direct jetting of metal and ceramic inks with a separate soluble support material, ensuring both precision and versatility. With a 60-70% lower initial investment compared to XJet’s existing Carmel systems, the new platform opens the door for organizations seeking to adopt metal and ceramic 3D printing for high-value end-use parts production.

Key features
The Carmel Pro features multi-material printing capability with four material channels. The system is fully compatible with XJet’s complete portfolio of metal and ceramic inks, including the company’s unique precious metals capability, and supports future expansion into high-value materials and specialized applications.
Designed for ease of use, even by non-expert or shift operators, the new 3D printer integrates several smart automation features, including:
- Single-button job initiation, with automated pre-checks, guided setup wizards, and self-monitoring systems.
- Less than 20-minute turnaround between jobs, enabled by rapid cleaning and setup processes that minimize downtime and ensure maximum material utilization for efficient production.
- Compatibility with XJet’s automated Print-Wash-Sinter process, ensuring seamless integration across production workflows.
The Carmel Pro is now open for pre-booking ahead of Formnext and will be commercially available in Q2 2026. Further details will be showcased at XJet booth 11.0-D11 at the show.
