With a strong support of TRUMPF to highlight their “Made in Germany” value proposition, URWAHN additively manufactures the ultra-light steel frame as well as selected drive systems from Gates Carbon Drive, MAHLE SmartBike Systems, PINION, and SRAM.

When it comes to choosing an efficient drive system, URWAHN relies on the advantages of the powerful X20 rear hub motor from MAHLE Smartbike Systems in the e-bike segment. Weighing just 1.4 kg, it is the lightest rear motor available on the market and weighs only 3.2 kg in total, including the motor, battery, and control unit. The electric powerhouse operates at 36 volts and accelerates forward with a torque of up to 55 Nm. The discreetly placed 236-watt-hour battery in the down tube gives the URWAHN e-bike its unmistakable, minimalist look and ensures long-lasting riding pleasure with a range of up to 100 km in the appropriate terrain. And if the power runs out, the optional range extender with a nominal capacity of 171 Wh provides an additional 40 to 60 km, the company explains.

The SOFTRIDE 2.0 product series is the result of months of careful planning and execution by our research and development team. We have succeeded in developing a highly customizable portfolio that sets new standards in terms of aesthetics, technology, and sustainability across its entire lifecycle, without compromising form and function,” states Sebastian Meinecke – Founder and CEO of URWAHN Bikes.

Another highlight comes from in-house development. With the proprietary mudguard-rack system made of torsion-resistant aluminum with a durable Raptor coating, the young mavericks bring a novel system to the market that can be disassembled and assembled in under 30 seconds using specific mounts and a small tool. The configuration can be quickly upgraded to a full-fledged pack mule, as the side racks can carry up to 7.5 kg and are compatible with all standard 3-point pannier bags. Naturally, the systems are prepared to accommodate up to four magnetic Fidlock Bike Bases. So, functionally, the system leaves nothing to be desired, a press release reads.
