AM Events in France
On March 26th, IDICE, the organizer of the French exhibition the 3D Print Congress & Exhibition. had decided to postpone its event due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Based on the recent governmental decisions, they now confirm October 13 -15th, 2020 as the new dates of the event.
AM Events in the UK
In the UK, the Advanced Materials Show and Ceramics UK, originally scheduled for July 7th, 8th and 9th will now take place on 2nd & 3rd December 2020, Stoneleigh UK.
Steve Bryan, Managing Director of Event Partners the show organisers says “our free events, which were previously scheduled for July are likely to come at a time when the strictest social distancing measures are relaxed in the UK. However, we have taken the decision, in conjunction with our Founding Partners and Advisory Board, that at that time there would be a small risk that the quality of attendees would be compromised. We want to ensure that the industry as a whole retains the confidence they have in us, as the organisers, to deliver a first-class, global celebration in the heart of UK manufacturing, without compromise.”
The organizer assures that the event will still gather a highly focused audience, all involved in the research, production, purchasing or integration of advanced materials technology including Graphene & 2D Materials, Composites, Polymers, Coatings, and Ceramics.
Another UK-held event that has been impacted by this pandemic is TCT 3Sixty. Originally scheduled for 29 September – 01 October 2020, the event will now take place from 29 June – 01 July 2021. The venue for the event, the NEC, Birmingham, UK is unchanged.
The disappoint is huge for the Rapid News team who had reimagined the well known TCT Show as TCT 3Sixty. “We are grateful to the NEC for working alongside us to identify a dateline which we believe will work for the great majority of our exhibitors and provide much-needed reassurance for visitors. Whilst we are disappointed that the re-imagined event will not now debut in September, we are confident the additional time we have to develop the event will result in a better experience for all involved”, states Duncan Wood, CEO of Rapid News Group.
The new TCT Show will be co-located alongside Rapid News Group’s other industrial events: Interplas, the plastics show; as well as Med-Tech Innovation Expo, a medical design and manufacturing technology event.

The participants of the AM Forum, 90 percent of whom come from the DACH region, are known to us by name. Participants from the risk areas defined by the Robert Koch Institute will not take part”, announced the organizer. Lastly, in order to keep safety as a top priority, all participants are invited to fill out a questionnaire about their whereabouts and travel activities in the past 14 days.
Belgium
In Belgium, due to reduced travel in the spring following the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Materialise World Summit, a corporate event organized by Materialise will now take place on November 5th & 6th.
Digital actions, the new alternative?
Organizers that have decided to maintain their event during this period have opted for a digital solution.
The cancellation of several events and the decrease in travel during this period do not only impact events’ organizers activities – or airlines to a larger extent -. Many companies of the industry will also struggle with decreased sales volumes and revenues.
For now, we have noted that companies are increasingly leveraged digital actions launched through the online trade press which, in the end, always brings together the community they are looking for.
