LuxCreo, a 3D printer manufacturer and developer of medical products, has entered the $500 billion medical device market by collaborating with EMA Sleep to ensure the advanced manufacturing process of EMA devices. EMA Sleep is a provider of oral appliance solutions. Its EMA devices help to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).

For over 30 years, the EMA device has been curing sleep apnea by elongating the bite to advance the jaw (mandible) and opening the airway space using elastic straps. Meanwhile, the production has been limited due to its thermoforming process.

EMA Sleep’s manufacturing expert, Sonnie Bocala reveals, “I can’t praise the entire LuxCreo team enough. True, LuxCreo’s personalized medical device platform solved many issues for us. We also required a design software solution tailored to the EMA device and LuxCreo delivered. Whether it was troubleshooting, technical support, or responsiveness, I have been extremely impressed with the entire LuxCreo company.”

By relying on automated EMA 3D-specialized design software, compact iLux Pro Dental production system (for the 3D printing process), proprietary FDA-cleared resin, and workflow automation, the firm has finally overcome the hurdle to offer same-day treatments and ensure wider availability.

“The global MedTech industry is expected to grow from $500 billion to over $800 billion by 2032. LuxCreo is solving a critical challenge to this growth by delivering precisely customized, high-performance medical devices directly at the point of care — where they can impact patient outcomes. It has been gratifying to see how LuxCreo’s personalized medical device platform is bringing value to what Sonnie, Joe Frantz, and their team are trying to achieve in treating sleep apnea across all patient populations,” says the co-founder and chief revenue officer of LuxCreo Michael Strohecker.
