Stratasys becomes the parent company of Forward AM

The company rebrands as Mass Additive Manufacturing GmbH and will operate as a standalone entity

Stratasys has acquired the key assets and operations of Forward AM Technologies GmbH. The 3D printing material company,  which spun out of BASF last year, was facing financial problems since the last quarter of 2024.

The announcement follows the recent discontinuation of its activities in the US. The company confirms it will continue to work as an independent materials brand, open to all platforms and partners.

We now have the global strength and support of Stratasys, and that means more innovation, more momentum, and more value for our partners. In addition, while we will operate under the Forward AM brand, we will formally constitute a new standalone company within Stratasys, Mass Additive Manufacturing GmbH”, the company enthuses.

This acquisition provides Forward AM with the stability and resources needed to thrive in the competitive additive manufacturing landscape and continues to strengthen Stratasys’ position in the AM industry by enhancing its material capabilities.
