3D printer manufacturer Snapmaker has released the open beta of Snapmaker Space, a platform for discovering, sharing, and printing multi-color and multi-material 3D models.
The 3D model and creator-rewards platform for toolchanger 3D printers such as the Snapmaker U1 brings printable models and helps to prepare print profiles together in one place.
It already includes more than 2,500 models with U1 print profiles from established designers, emerging creators, and Snapmaker’s in-house modeling team.
Snapmaker created Space to give users a dependable source of high-quality models. As printers gain advanced multi-color and multi-material capabilities, well-designed, thoroughly tested content becomes increasingly important. The platform gives users and makers better printing choices while rewarding creators and communities for developing more ambitious models.
“Snapmaker Space extends our work from building machines and materials to supporting the content ecosystem that gives that hardware its purpose,” said Jade Wu, Director of Community Operations at Snapmaker. “Our objective is to make high-quality models easier to discover and to create clearer incentives for the people who design, test, and improve them. For the broader industry, this reflects the growing importance of model quality and creator participation in translating technical capability into successful printing outcomes.”
Creator rewards based on cumulative print time
Cumulative qualifying print time equals a model’s print duration multiplied by the number of prints, including pro-rated time for incomplete prints. By rewarding cumulative print time rather than upload volume or downloads alone, the framework reduces the incentive to mass-upload simple files.
Shorter models can earn through frequent use, while complex models can earn through longer print duration, giving creators a reason to invest in reliable, useful, and technically ambitious designs. The Community Rewards program also offers other ways to earn points, including print-profile preparation and model ratings.
Points can be redeemed for Snapmaker Store gift cards covering eligible printers, materials, accessories, and other products. Points do not expire; redeemed gift cards are valid for one year. Detailed eligibility requirements are available in the program terms.
Beyond the beta release
During the beta period, Snapmaker will refine model discovery and submission, expand the library of high-quality multi-color and multi-material models, and encourage broader participation from creators and 3D printing communities. The company will evaluate the rewards framework using operational data and community feedback.
