Senvol, a developer of additive manufacturing machine learning software, has been granted further funding from the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force to enhance its technology.

The collaboration between the software provider and U.S. Air Force was announced in July 2020 with goal of developing a methodology for demonstrating airworthiness of multi-laser Additive Manufacturing. The company’s additive machine learning software named Senvol ML, helps analyze data from any AM process, any AM machine, and any AM material.

According to Senvol, engineers who use the software can rapidly optimize AM process parameters, support qualification of AM machines & materials, predict material properties, gain insights from in-situ monitoring data to support quality assurance and minimize data generation costs.

Furthermore, with the recent integration of Senvol database into e-Xstream’s MaterialCenter platform, operators now have access to a wider range of possibilities to additively manufacture metal, polymer, composite and advanced materials across the aerospace, defense, oil & gas, consumer products, medical, and automotive industries.

It’s been 2 years that Senvol has been made commercially available, a period that coincides with the company’s Phase II Base STTR effort with ONR. The new funding, exercised in support of the Phase II Option, is going towards the development of new capabilities that will be rolled into the Senvol ML software.

Senvol President Annie Wang commented, “We are very excited about the continued support from several of our Department of Defense partners. Our collective objective is to enable organizations to quickly characterize or qualify additive manufacturing materials and processes. The new capabilities that we are developing are quite compelling and will augment the Senvol ML software’s existing suite of capabilities.”
