Postprocess Technologies launches new support removal solution for FDM 3D Printing

PostProcess Technologies, a provider of automated and intelligent post-processing solutions for 3D printed products, has added another post-printing solution for FDM 3D Printing to its portfolio.

Named VORSA 500, the new machine measures 41 cm x 41 cm x 37 cm, and provides consistent, hands free support structure removal on 3D printed FDM parts. At the heart of its development, lies the patented, proven spray technology of the manufacturer – VVD.

This Volumetric Velocity Dispersion (VVD) technology is integrated in other support removal solutions from PostProcess. It works in tandem with patent-pending detergents and proprietary software to effectively remove support materials from 3D printed polymer parts.

With fastest cycle times, the new support removal solution reduces  processing times by over 50% compared to submersible tank systems. It can process larger batch sizes with every type of part – regardless of geometry.

The machine is controlled by AUTOMAT3D, a software solution that “takes the guesswork out of post-printing and reduces operator labor time with pre-programmed recipes. Controlling agitation intensities, temperatures, process times, and more, the VORSA 500 delivers consistently complete FDM support removal. AUTOMAT3D optimizes the rate of support removal, utilizing multi-dimensional spray coverage, ensuring fast cycle times with virtually no damage to parts.”

Rich Caplow, PostProcess Vice President, Products, said: “The addition of the VORSA 500 to our portfolio demonstrates our continued market leadership in the additive manufacturing post-print space, providing the industry with the fastest FDM support removal solutions and the VORSA 500 delivers on our promise to offer customers higher through-put with an automated and comprehensive FDM support removal solution.”
