CEAD Group, an expert in Large Format Additive manufacturing solutions (LFAM), will enable users of its 3D printers to access a broader range of tested and validated materials – thanks to a new partnership with material producer Polymaker.
Acknowledged for its filaments used in desktop 3D printers, this partnership allows Polymaker to deliver large-scale AM applications with its material capabilities.
“We are excited to announce our partnership with CEAD, which perfectly aligns with our mission to ‘Simplify Creation.’ By combining Polymaker’s high-quality materials with CEAD’s cutting-edge technology, we aim to make large-format additive manufacturing more accessible, efficient, and reliable for creators across industries. Polymaker is deeply committed to the growth of LFAM/FGF and will continue to invest in its development. While the PolyCore™ PETG-1013, PETG-1000, and ABS-5022 have been validated on CEAD systems, we plan to validate all PolyCore materials in the near future,” Xiaofan Luo, CEO of Polymaker said.
A few examples of applications that Polymaker and CEAD can achieve include urban furniture and structures used across the architecture and construction industries.
At Formnext 2024, CEAD’s partner Benkert Bänke exhibited two striking examples of 3D-printed furniture: a modular bench and a translucent design table. These pieces were manufactured with Polymaker’s thermoplastic material – the PolyCore PETG-1013 Natural -, for large-format 3D printing and CEAD’s Flexbot solution.

The bench meets the durability and weather resistance requirements essential for urban furniture.
The 3D printed translucent design table on the other hand required the use of Polymaker’s PolyCore PETG-1000 Transparent material.

The transparency of the material enhances the visual appeal, creating mesmerizing light effects as each printed layer interacts with ambient lighting. The stainless-steel accents provide a refined finish, contributing to the table’s sleek and luxurious appearance, CEAD explains.
