A new international nonprofit consortium aims to leverage Additive Manufacturing (AM) to address the challenges faced by the energy industry. Named energize.am, the consortium gathers organizations from the U.S., U.K., Singapore, Brazil, and beyond.

Its founding members include Autentica6KContinuum PowdersWayland AdditiveHoldson Dynamic Electrochemical SolutionsAdditive Manufacturing UK, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC), Beyond Engineering Group3DPrint.com, and AM Research, among others.

Their goal is to transform energy systems, reshore critical manufacturing, and reduce environmental impact. In response to global geopolitical shifts and the growing need for energy security, energize.am brings together small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), large corporations, and research institutions to build a collaborative network that addresses vulnerabilities in supply chains while promoting sustainable practices critical to the U.S. and its allies, a press release said.

With energize.am, we are creating a unified ecosystem that combines the agility of SMEs with the resources of larger companies to deliver innovative solutions for energy resilience, sustainability, and manufacturing security,” said Irma Gilbert, Co-Director of energize.am and CEO of Autentica Industrial Platform.

Key priorities for energize.am include:

  • Reshoring critical manufacturing to strengthen domestic supply chains.
  • Advancing AM technologies to promote decarbonization and sustainable energy practices.
  • Establishing industry standards for AM in energy and manufacturing applications.
  • Developing workforce skills to adopt AM technologies at scale.

The consortium’s work will be supported by government and private grants, with additional opportunities through licensing innovative platforms developed by its members.

energize.am welcomes participation from SMEs, enterprises, and stakeholders committed to reshaping the future of energy and manufacturing.
