ModuleWorks, supplier of CAD/CAM software components, and Robotized, a company known for delivering CNC and robotic manufacturing solutions, deepen their partnership to provide industries with robot-assisted additive manufacturing.
The two companies aim to support manufacturers in the digitalization of their existing workflows and the transfer to automated and highly efficient robot-driven production for CMT and other additive processes.
“There is a lot of potential for automating and accelerating additive manufacturing, especially CMT manufacturing”, says Lothar Glasmacher, Head of Additive & Process Technologies at ModuleWorks. “Robotized are recognized experts for robot-assisted welding and buildup welding applications, and together we want to digitalize existing processes and use intelligent toolpath planning to deliver efficient, automated solutions that enable manufacturers to remain competitive and productive.”
It should be noted that their existing customers already benefit from tailor-made solutions for subtractive and additive manufacturing. As they extend their partnership, their portfolio of solution will include Robotized process optimization for robotic and machine kinematics with the latest ModuleWorks toolpath algorithms for additive manufacturing.
ModuleWorks explains in a press communication that its algorithms generate high-performance, collision-free toolpaths with minimal operator intervention for highly automated and efficient workflows that speed up the manufacturing process.
However, to enable a smooth integration of Robotized process, the ModuleWorks team will develop new algorithms for fast CMT manufacturing. The robot-assisted CMT solutions will therefore be provided alongside wire-arc additive manufacturing (WAAM), laser cladding and material extrusion.
“We have been working successfully with ModuleWorks on CAM customer projects for many years”, says Norbert Krach, Managing Director of Robotized. “The ModuleWorks components enable us to implement powerful, individualized customer solutions in a very short time. We’re excited about the extended partnership and look forward to offering our customers the latest automation technology.”
