Ceramic 3D printing company Lithoz will premiere an optional “Performance Pack” for the CeraFab System S65 and S65 Medical at Formnext 2026. Built around a 4K projection system, the tuning kit doubles light intensity from 60 mW/cm² to around 120 mW/cm² and raises resolution from 40 µm (635 dpi) to 25 µm (1016 dpi), a 60% dpi increase.
Throughout 2026, we have seen Lithoz focus on materials for serial production at ceramitec in March and bring clinical evidence at RAPID+TCT in April. The focus on hardware at Formnext seems to emphasize a strategy that takes into account every critical step of the manufacturing chain.
In a way, this type of reveal at Formnext is not surprising. Formnext has often served as Lithoz’s hardware stage. This was the case, for example, with the CeraFab S320, which already relied on 4K projection, in 2024.
The main gain of the “Performance Pack” and what questions you should ask the Lithoz team
According to Lithoz, the main gain of its tuning kit lies in processing dark ceramics. Darker slurries absorb more of the light needed to cure each layer, a known hurdle for light-based processes such as Lithography-based Ceramic Manufacturing (LCM).
That said, we don’t know exactly which materials the extra light intensity is designed for. Black zirconia watch bezels are among the exhibits announced, but it is still unknown whether they were made using an S65 with the Performance Pack installed.
Since a significant share of CeraFab systems are already deployed in print farms, it would also be interesting to discover whether customers can upgrade their existing S65 fleets.
More customer announcements are promised before the show. In the meantime, visitors at Formnext can already add Lithoz’s booth to their schedule. In Hall 11.0, Stand B50, they will discover an S65 fitted with the kit on display.
