Ceramic 3D printing company Lithoz GmbH has recently joined the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in the UK, an independent Research & Technology Organisation (RTO) with the objective of bridging the gap between academia and industry.

The company explains that its new membership will allow MTC to extend its range of additive manufacturing options for various industrial sectors. Using Lithoz’s CeraFab additive manufacturing machine, MTC engineers will be able to process a variety of high-performance ceramics, enhancing the MTC’s capability to design and manufacture complex ceramic geometries.

Sherry Ghanizadeh, Senior Research Engineer at MTC, is “very excited to be working with Lithoz using their advanced CeraFab system to push the boundaries of ceramic AM across sectors, including Power and Energy and Defence.”

Lithoz CEO, Dr. Johannes Homa, stated, ‘we are very excited to be a part of the MTC community! There is certainly a very active and inspiring ceramic industry to be seen in the UK, as well as a strong 3D printing hub – we look forward to shaping the latest ceramic innovations being achieved by experts at the MTC using the industry-leading Lithoz CeraFab S65 3D printer technology.’

The announcement follows the recent introduction of the “Ceramic 3D Factory” network.

The two organizations will be present at the Lithoz booth (2125, Hall 3 and 3a) at the upcoming Advanced Ceramics Show in Birmingham, where “The Ceramic 3D Factory” will premiere for the first time in the UK, driving ceramic additive manufacturing to a new dimension of serial production.
