Gravity Pull Systems develops a software solution that enables IoT applications for industrial additive manufacturing processes

Gravity Pull Systems has developed a software solution creates 24/7 holistic overall process in additive manufacturing.

The AI-based Synoptik software platform of the Swiss start-up enables IoT / IIoT applications for industrialized additive manufacturing processes, from initial planning to production completion:

  • Dynamic adjustment of changing process parameters in real time by integrating the Scheduling Optimizer function with a Manufacturing Execution System (MES); e.g. relevant for flexible adjustment of production times.
  • Full transparency and traceability 24/7 across the entire manufacturing process by continuous monitoring via Track & Trace.
  • Industry-specific compliance requirements are con-figurable, meeting aerospace, automotive, automation or medical demands.
  • Achieving increased profitability by reduced manu-facturing costs and material consumption, which has a lasting effect on environmental protection.

The way Synoptik works is based on highly complex Artificial Intelligence models, the algorithms of which calculate any changes in procedures, process parameters, material consumption and schedules 24/7 in real time, incorporate them into production processes in an agile manner and continuously recalculate production costs.

In additive manufacturing processes, concrete results for the digital transformation to Industry 4.0 / IIot level are realized:

  • Active implementation of an efficient use of resources, materials and energy through sustainable production and maximum reuse of material; made possible by early monitoring of malfunctions in order to minimize material waste and to generate the necessary machine instructions and parameter settings “on the fly”
  • Efficient adaptation of production processes, e.g. in case of new orders with a fixed deadline, for which production has to be realigned without affecting the existing production environment
  • Permanent tracking of all material / powder-related processes, including batch mix, material preparation, material procurement, quality inspection
  • Automatic generation of new batch numbers, e.g. when mixing batches, when increasing / decreasing the number of cycles of recyclable material, when reclassifying recycled powder after testing
  • Serialization of production objects (individual parts, construction panels, generated material batches …) in order to call up the exact course of individual parts, e.g. the X / Y / Z coordinates of parts within a given build panel
  • Preservation of the immutability of logged data through sensors that generate private / public keys in addition to storing information and write information directly to a non-modifiable data storage medium (e.g. blockchain) without manual intervention
