ExOne and Xometry have signed a new partnership that will give Xometry’s customers a fast and cost-effective way to 3D print metal prototypes and production parts.
For those who are not familiar with Xometry, the company connects customers on its large marketplace through proprietary AI algorithms. With a diverse customer base, from startups to Fortune 100 companies, Xometry provides on-demand manufacturing and industrial supply materials through a network of thousands of partner manufacturing facilities.
The new partnership follows the recent launch of ExOne’s Sand 3D Printing Network powered by over 40 Industrial Binder Jetting Systems.
Through this collaboration, ExOne will be the only provider of binder jetting services in Xometry’s recently-launched Digital RFQ Marketplace. The binder-jetting specialist currently 3D prints 21 materials including aluminium, Inconel 718, 316L, 17-4PH stainless steels and M2 Tool Steel.
“ExOne is proud to offer our metal 3D printing services to Xometry customers,” said John Hartner, ExOne’s CEO. “Our industrial binder jet machines can truly take products from prototyping all the way to final production with a single process that is fast, affordable and sustainable.”
As far as Xometry is concerned, the addition of binder jetting services completes a production portfolio of AM technologies that already includes Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis (DLS) 3D printing technology, Fused Deposition Modelling, Stereolithography, PolyJet, Selective Laser Sintering and Multi Jet Fusion technologies – not to mention conventional manufacturing processes including sheet metal and CNC machining.
With binder jetting services, not only does Xometry give further flexibility to its customers, but they will be able to work with an AM technology that is mature enough to achieve viable and reproducible production.
