ExOne & Siemens to simplify the path to industrial 3D Printing

One thing we learned from Siemens this year is that they are ready to disrupt and support any company that wants to be ready for Industry 4.0. One thing we learned from ExOne is that they are committed to advancing 3D Binder Jet additive manufacturing. Both companies partner today to achieve the same goal: enable industrial customers in the foundry, aerospace, automotive, energy and other markets to benefit from industrial 3D Printing.

How?

ExOne’s new S-Max Pro™ includes the latest Siemens’ Digital Enterprise Portfolio of software and automation technology to leverage the benefits of Industry 4.0.

The S-Max ProTm is the new sand 3D Printer of ExOne. Unveiled yesterday at GIFA, International Foundry Trade Fair, the 3D Printer is ideal for both prototyping and industrial series production. According to the company, users can benefit from a print speed of 135 l/h (18 s/layer).

The Digital Enterprise portfolio from Siemens enables companies to connect all their technologies. ExOne will experience this level of digitalisation in all aspects of its products (3D Printing systems, software and services). The binder jet AM will be able to truly leverage industry 4.0.

At the heart of this experience, stand the “Digital Twin”. Simply put, the Digital Twin is a virtual representation of a physical product or process that enables to understand and predict the physical product’s performance characteristics.

ExOne will take advantage of this feature in the entire value chain, from the machine concept to operations and services. AM operators will therefore secure their investments with shorter lead times, increased machine performance and smarter service decisions.

Lastly, with the goal to turn data into value and to ease decision-making, ExOne will also benefit from the MindSphere technology, an open cloud-based IoT operating system that machine data analysis and real-time information.

With this expanded partnership, ExOne will deliver even more value to our foundry and manufacturing customers who rely on our industrial 3D printers,” said ExOneCEO John Hartner. “We are proud to be the first industrial 3D printer to fully integrate the latest of Siemens control, sensing and motion technologies and this new MindSphere technology, which will give our customers a new level of control and plant integration.”
