Several OEMs developing machines for the Additive Manufacturing (AM) community also launch specific services that allow those who would not like to invest in the purchase of machines to benefit from the capabilities of their technologies. That’s why we gradually see OEMs launch offerings such as manufacturing as a service (MaaS) or even software as a service (SaaS).
It only makes sense to us to see experts in post-processing solutions DyeMansion launch “industrial post-processing as a service”. Named Black Diamond Finishing Hub, the service is available via an online platform and enables users to utilize the company’s Vapor Smoothing, Blasting & Black Coloring.
The initial focus is on PA11 and PA12 materials from any powder bed 3D printer on the market – desktop or industrial. The processing time will be just 2 working days and there is no minimum order value or capex invest for customers, the company says.

Since no CAPEX investment is needed to use this service, it’s the easiest way to get access to industrial finishing,” says Felix Ewald, CEO of DyeMansion. “This platform exemplifies our commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions, enabling businesses of all sizes worldwide create products with industrial 3D printing.”
While DyeMansion is not the first post-processing company to provide such services with its equipment (AM Solutions provides a similar offering for instance), it should be noted that “Black Diamond Finishing Hub” complements the company’s existing hardware portfolio and their On-Demand Finishing service, which has existed since the company was founded and has a somewhat more extensive range of services.
Initially, the Black Diamond Finishing Hub will be carried out from DyeMansion’s locations in Munich and Austin, with plans to roll out to the company’s global production partner network by the end of this year. Resellers can distribute attractive voucher codes to their end customers or leads and service providers can register to become finishing partners in the future and set up an own hub that will also be handled via the platform, a press release reads.
