Domin – A UK-based high-performance hydraulic valve manufacturer, has upgraded its production capabilities by adding the RenAM 500Q Ultra Metal Additive Manufacturing system from Renishaw.
Domin is a frequent user of the Renishaw RenAM 500Q, a four-laser AM system designed for serial production applications. The RenAM 500Q Ultra is the latest addition to Renishaw’s family.
The 3D printer is based on the OEM’s patented TEMPUS™ technology and reduces the build times by up to 50% without compromising quality. Advanced process monitoring of the system enables the attainment of consistent production quality. TEMPUS™ technology allows for more efficient laser operations improving productivity.

As Domin reached full capacity production, the new RenAM 500Q Ultra represented the necessary step to maintain fast turnaround times while continuing to meet the quality standards of many industries, such as automotive and aerospace.
Domin’s hydraulic valves are designed to accomplish the ongoing demands of the automotive, aerospace & manufacturing sectors. With Metal Additive Manufacturing, Domin can build complex geometries with internal features that aren’t possible with traditional subtractive manufacturing processes.
It can also end in parts with a commendable strength-to-weight ratio & reduced waste. Domin seeks to change the face of hydraulics and target one gigatonne of CO2e savings by 2030 by merging AM with advanced electronics, high-speed motor control, big data, and other connected technologies.
This will help Domin to reduce the time taken for hydraulic valve production & offer ways to deploy reliable products for its budding user base.
