Bremen Castings, Inc. (BCI) and Eaton will leverage 3D printing technology to accelerate new product development for hydraulics customers

Bremen Castings, Inc. (BCI) and Eaton signed a commercial agreement to accelerate new product development for hydraulics customers by taking advantage of 3D printing technology.

Bremen Castings, Inc. is a CNC machine shop with a green sand foundry under one roof. The shop is equipped with over a dozen horizontal, vertical and other CNC machines to provide an assembled, precision machined complete casting to the market.

As for Eaton, it is a management company that provides customers solutions to help them effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more efficiently, safely and sustainably.

BCI and Eaton will be using an ExOne 3D printer in the foundry and machine shop at BCI, located in Bremen, IN. This technology will give both companies access to print 3D sand molds and cores used in the iron casting process.

Utilizing 3D printing in this way lays the groundwork for both companies to save time in material, tooling, engineering, inventory, transportation, and startup cost for new projects, said JB Brown, President, BCI.The addition of this 3D printer allows BCI to produce cores and molds for low volume work and prototypes without producing expensive and time consuming tooling for customers.
