Auto Shanghai: Renault unveils its new concept car printed in 3D

Auto Shanghai, officially the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, is a biennial car show that gives automakers the chance to show off their latest creations.

From April 28th to 19th, the French car manufacturer, Renault, unveils the new concept of Formula 1: R.S. 2027 Vision.

With a futuristic design, this Formula 1 raises interest with its cockpit, entirely 3D printed and covered with a transparent polycarbonate cover.

“Renault Sport Racing’s role is to anticipate the future in order to attract as many fans as possible in an environment which best realizes Renault Group’s vision,” said Cyril Abiteboul, Renault Sport Racing’s General Manager.

On the technical side, R.S. 2027 vision is a beast, with 1 megawatt power and a weight of 600 kilos, equivalent to 1,300 horsepower. A hybrid V6 engine manages the concept car, while a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) will produce up to 500kW.

With the brand new concept-car, Renault gives its vision of the next racing cars intended for Formula 1.
