AddUp and IPC found ADDILYS, an Additive Manufacturing company for tooling and plastics processing

AddUp and IPC have announced the creation of ADDILYS, that will provide additive manufacturing services for tooling and plastics processing. The announcement follows the recent launch of Famergie, a platform created by AddUp and CEA to boost AM activities in the energy sector.

In only three years, the joint-venture of groups Fives and Michelin, has progressively positioned itself as a key player of the French AM ecosystem. Thanks to its projects and acquisitions, AddUp improves its product/process skills in additive manufacturing while adapting its services to AM users.

IPC (Plastics and Composites Manufacturing Technical Centre) on the other hand, is acknowledged for its expertise in the plastics sector and its ability to deliver optimized thermal solutions and design of printed moulds.

ADDILYS gathers the strengths of its parent companies

Using the conformal cooling process and AddUp’s metal AM technology, ADDILYS will deliver for customised and optimized thermal solutions for plastics processors. Various players across the manufacturing chain, including mould maker and end user will benefit from impressive increases in productivity.

If David Muller will lead the new entity’s operations, ADDILYS will benefit from the material and human resources from the founding companies. Furthermore, just like AddUp & IPC, the entity will be headquartered in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region.

Regarding this launch, David MULLER – CEO, ADDILYS says: “ADDILYS is THE trade response for plastics processing and tooling users. Combining 3D printing skills with the expertise of trade users (plastics processing, etc.) the company provides/offers an optimum response for technical solutions that brings benefits in the quickest and most efficient way, while offering ad-hoc support in order to improve operational productivity.”
