To expand the realm of applications in digital dentistry, ceramic 3D printing company Lithoz recently unveiled the LithaBite alumina material.
Ideal for 3D-printed translucent orthodontic ceramic brackets, the material can be processed by its LCM technology; it combines slot geometry‘s precision of better than 8 µm and minimal material consumption of less than 0.1 g per bracket.
During the manufacturing stage, parts can be optimized with Lithoz’ digital surface enhancement (DSE) software, ensuring a smoother surface.
The LithaBite alumina material was unveiled at this year’s IDS along with a new generation of 3D-printable zirconia.
With a Weibull modulus of 20 – one of the highest ever achieved values in the history of 3D-printed ceramics – this zirconia delivers optimal reliability for the use in large-scale serial production of dental applications, Lithoz said. Examples of applications that can be achieved with the new zirconia include implants with inner threads produced without additional mechanical post-processing,
