City of Lyon in daytime

Scheduled to take place October 9–13, 2022, in Lyon, France, the World PM2022 Congress & Exhibition is an essential destination for the international PM community to meet its suppliers, producers and end-users and to discover the latest innovations in PM technology.

Only held in Europe once every six years, this year the European Powder Metallurgy Association – organizer and sponsor of the event, will take this entire community to France, at the Lyon convention Centre.

World PM2022 is an all-topic powder metallurgy event featuring:

  • Powder Production
  • Consolidation technologies (Compaction and Sintering, MIM, HIP, FAST, AM beam based technologies, AM sinter based technologies, …)
  • Materials (Ferrous & Non ferrous materials, Light materials, Hight temperature materials, Functional materials, Hard metals, cermets and diamond tools, …)
  • Applications (Biomedical, Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, …)
  • Tools for improving PM (Test and evaluation, Secondary operations, Design and modelling, Life Cycle Analysis, Digitization, …)

In addition to the technical programme, the World PM2022 will offer the following 13 Special Interest Seminars (SIS) from 9 to 13 October 2022 in Lyon, France. The SIS will cover the following topics:

  • Session 6: FM SIS: High Entropy Alloys and their possible applications
  • Session 7: EHQS SIS: ISO Activities & Standards
  • Session 8: EHQS SIS: Environment, Health and Safety
  • Session 18: Press & Sinter Global market trends
  • Session 25: P&S SIS: Supply chain issues for alloying elements induced by electrification and their possible consequences
  • Session 32: AM SIS: Sustainability in AM
  • Session 39: AM SIS: Emerging AM Technologies
  • Session 46: HM SIS: Challenges in HM Industry
  • Session 53: HM SIS: Hard Materials in the Value Chain
  • Session 62: MIM SIS: Global MIM market
  • Session 69: MIM SIS: Sustainability of MIM
  • Session 76: HIP SIS: Metallurgical aspects of using HIP
  • Session 83: HIP SIS: Hybrid solutions using HIP

For this one of a kind event, EPMA has planned a lot of activities for visitors at the event. Various industry tours will be held on Friday 14 October 2022 at some Industries or research centers. The tours’ selection includes CETIM – MANUTECH (the French Technical Centre for Mechanical Industry), EDF – Bugey Nuclear Plant, ESFR – The European Synchrotron, and The Beaujolais Escape. Registration to these tours has to be done during the online registration to the Congress.

Lastly, the Technical Programme Committee will also deliver (Keynote papers) KNP Awards to 9 industry experts. 9 keynote papers have been selected:
