UK additive manufacturing research centre AMRC joins AM Explorer early access program

Interspectral enters a new agreement with The University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).  The research centre will now under a new development and license agreement get early access to Interspectral’s software AM Explorer.

AMRC is a research centre that specializes in carrying out research into advanced machining, manufacturing and materials for aerospace and other high-value manufacturing sectors.

“AM Explorer will enable users to visualise, interpret and analyse multiple data sets from a variety of AM workflows. This is an important step in the adoption of AM as a standard method of manufacture.

As users, we want to be able to access data on demand along the critical path, this will aid in factors such as troubleshooting, data traceability and cut down the cycle time for analysis. Our collaboration with Interspectral will be invaluable for the creation of new digital workflows for AM”, Abdul Haque, Technical Lead – Metal AM, AMRC states.

AM Explorer makes it possible to fuse, explore and analyze design files, simulation data, machine monitoring data and post-build metrology data from the metal additive manufacturing process in 3D. The software package is specifically designed for metal AM and will enable the researchers to better explore and understand the data generated in their work.

“AMRC is an internationally renowned research centre within additive manufacturing with over 100 industrial partners. By working with AMRC we will make sure to get product feedback on real industry needs. We are looking forward to work with the team and will do our best to further develop AM Explorer to support their work”, Thomas Rydell, Co-founder, Interspectral states.
