Historically recognized for its powder bed 3D printing technologies, Sculpteo gives professionals more manufacturing options through the addition of FDM 3D printing.

The announcement follows the recently formed venture with 3D Prod. While it’s surprising to realize that Sculpteo did not yet provide FDM 3D printing services, with 3D Prod, the combined entity aims to cover everything from rapid prototyping to mid- and large-series production, from additive manufacturing to injection molding.

The 3D printing service provider could print with seven materials on this process: PLA (particularly suited for prototyping), ABS (for parts that need good robustness), TPU (for parts that need elasticity), flame-retardant PETG (for applications that need enhanced protection against flames), TPU ESD (soft and antistatic, to limit electrostatic discharge), recycled PET and PETG ESD for applications that need to limit electrostatic discharge.

Sculpteo’s teams support professionals through every stage of the project, from file preparation to part production. Part orientation, print settings and file preparation can all affect the final performance of the parts. This support makes it possible to adapt manufacturing to the constraints of each project, a press release reads.

Alexandre d’Orsetti, CEO of Sculpteo: “Filament 3D printing is now a widely accessible technology, but using it in an industrial environment requires mastery of the entire manufacturing process. With this new offer, our goal is to put this technology at the service of professional projects, giving our customers the materials, technologies and support suited to their needs.”
