Midwest Prototyping, first US-based company to install NEO800, a large-format stereolithography system

Midwest Prototyping, a full service bureau based in Wisconsin, becomes the first US-based company to install the flagship NEO800, a large-format stereolithography system manufactured by RPS Ltd. The announcement marks the start of RPS Ltd’s international expansion programme into North America, with DSM as a material supplier.

With SLA 3D Printing systems installed in Czech Republic & UK, the British manufacturer is evolving slowly but surely in the global additive manufacturing market.

David Storey, Director at RPS comments; “Moving into the North American market is a key focus of the RPS development strategy. We have been very clear that we wanted to make this step with partners who share our commitment to service excellence and quality. We are proud to be collaborating with DSM, a world leading provider of stereolithography resins and other 3D printing materials.”

“The world-class NEO800 is being used by many high-profile customers in Europe from a range of companies such as Formula 1, service bureaus and Universities. It offers unique and reliable technology to build large functional models, prototype patterns and production parts with superior surface quality, accuracy and detail.”

If MWP appreciates the large build area and incredible print quality of the system, another great advantage for users is that the SLA Additive Manufacturing system can be used as an open material system. In other terms, operators are not restricted by the usual parameter constraints.

Eric Romano, Global Product Manager, DSM Additive Manufacturing North America: “We are excited to see the growth of open system options for customers and the expansion of stereolithography technology. We’re pleased to be part of the important solution RPS’s NEO800 offers to the additive manufacturing market. The NEO800 is ideal for customers looking to build large-scale stereolithography applications.
