Dassault Systèmes has recently finalized the acquisition of the ERP software company IQMS. For $425 million, the California-based company will enable Dassault Systèmes to extend the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to business operations for SMEs.
IQMS provides EnterpriseIQ and software as a service WebIQ to mid-market manufacturers. By combining these solutions to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, these companies will be able to digitally connect order processing, scheduling, production and shipping processes in real time.
On the other hand, they will have the opportunity to offer their services to companies that already take advantage of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
This acquisition is a great strength for Dassault Systèmes. Indeed, the ever-growing ERP market dedicated to industrial SMEs is estimated at 5 billion dollars. The needs of SMEs being real and their resources limited, Dassault Systèmes is now positioning itself as the hero who overcomes a number of obstacles on their way, obstacles that are often linked to the adoption of new ways of producing and working through digital transformation.
Brian Jones, Founder of Westfall Technik, Inc already sees the benefits of this acquisition for his company: “At Westfall Technik, we focus on innovation, design and bringing the best manufacturing practices from around the world to all of our operations. IQMS joining forces with Dassault Systèmes is exactly the kind of innovation we like to see from our partners. IQMS’s strength in manufacturing operations and Dassault Systèmes’ strength in design and digital transformation is a great outcome for Westfall Technik. We currently use both IQMS and SOLIDWORKS in multiple locations. We definitely look forward to the new partnership.”
