Royal DSM has launched the I AM Tomorrow challenge, an acceleration program for startups and scaleups focused on data analytics, AI and other advanced software solutions for large-scale 3D printing/ additive manufacturing.

The global science-based company known for its operations in Nutrition, Health & Sustainable Living collaborated with other well-known players of the industry: HighTechXL, Hexagon, and Ultimaker. The challenge consists in guiding select companies during a ten-week period so that they can launch or mature their businesses.

At the end of the program, participating startups might be admissible for funding or ready for a partnership with DSM.

DSM is changing the way we see him in the industry

It’s been 25 years that DSM is involved in the AM industry. Its journey starts with the launch of its Somos®  products. Over the years, we have always seen DSM as a producer and as a collaborator in the AM industry. Collaborations with Adaptive3D & Fortify exemplify this point. Being a true contributor in the industry goes beyond partnerships and production, it requires time (& obviously money) to invest in other businesses so that they can move forward. That’s what DSM is achieving through this challenge.

Digitalization will transform the world of manufacturing. By building an ecosystem of partners, we can work together to create tools that support 3D-printing design and production, helping our affiliates and customers create innovative new products in a more sustainable way. The I AM Tomorrow Challenge is a step toward a brighter future,”said Hugo da Silva, VP Additive Manufacturing DSM.

Startups and scaleups are encouraged to apply to the I AM Tomorrow Challenge by 8 August 2019. There is no cost to apply. Ten successful applicants will be invited to participate in the acceleration program, located at HighTechXL’s campus in Eindhoven, as well as in Boston, Massachusetts (USA), which will consist of expert coaching sessions, master classes and exclusive networking opportunities.

During the acceleration program, Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division will work with DSM and partners to evaluate companies interested in participating and work towards the development of a platform which will provide end-to-end digital solutions for additive manufacturing.

You can now post free of charge job opportunities in the AM Industry on 3D ADEPT Media.
