Etteplan, a global engineering company and Digital Metal, a developer of metal binder jetting systems, will work together to deliver design optimization solutions to customers transitioning into Additive Manufacturing.
Etteplan’s expertise has already been seen in a metal 3D printed component designed for the Oil & Gas industry.
Designed for Digital Metal binder jetting processes, these design solutions will help companies think outside the box when it comes to designing products and components. By combining Digital Metal’s expertise in Binder Jetting with Etteplan’s extensive knowledge in design of components for additive manufacturing the goal is to accelerate the transition from traditional manufacturing to additive manufacturing.
Both companies will also provide industrials with the full benefit of the technology – from idea to complete component with volume production in mind.
“Etteplan has invested heavily in additive manufacturing and has been involved in groundbreaking engineering already for a long time. We look forward to exploring and create synergies together with Digital Metal. The partnership will strengthen both Etteplan’s as well as Digital Metal’s offerings towards existing and future customers”, says Riku Riikonen, SVP, Engineering Solutions, Etteplan.
This announcement follows the recent launch of Digital Metal’s automated depowdering for metal binder jetting as well as the addition of pure copper to its portfolio. It shows the manufacturer’s willingness to enhance all stages of the manufacturing process.
