Constellium launches Aheadd®, aluminium powder offer for the additive manufacturing market

Constellium SE expands its portfolio of advanced aluminium solutions with the launch of Aheadd®, a new offer for high performance aluminium powders dedicated to the additive manufacturing industry.

With €5.9 billion of revenue in 2019, Constellium develops aluminium products for a broad scope of markets and applications, including aerospace, automotive and packaging.

According to the company, Aheadd® solutions bring unmatched thermal stability, allowing replacement of titanium in selected applications to reduce weight and cost.

A recently signed contract with Poly-Shape, an AddUp company and provider of metal additive manufacturing services, will lead to the development and production of innovative components based on the new Constellium powders.

As a global leader in innovative aluminium products and solutions, we are at the forefront of the evolving and fast changing additive manufacturing market, and we are proud to be expanding our portfolio to serve and meet the needs of our customers across all industries,” said Jean-Marc Germain, CEO of Constellium. “The global additive manufacturing market has great potential with new design and production possibilities, and we look forward to further expanding its potential by providing unique and high-performance aluminium powders customized for our customers.

Constellium brings a century of expertise in metallurgy and alloy development, which makes it a suitable candidate to provide customers with aluminium alloy development services for their additive manufacturing applications.

The company intends to expand its additive manufacturing offer, with additional alloys that will open up new opportunities for its customers.
