Advanced Manufacturing Madrid launches a competition that will reward the excellence and innovation of the Spanish industrial fabric

Advanced Manufacturing Madrid, the event that brings together Spain's innovative and industrial ecosystem in its three shows, MetalMadrid, Composites Madrid and Robomática Madrid, announces the Advanced Manufacturing Awards, a competition that will reward the excellence and innovation of the Spanish industrial fabric, sponsored by Cesol, Asociación Española de Soldadura y Tecnologías de Unión, and EMKA, a world leader in the field of locks, hinges and seals for the electrical enclosure industry and enclosure manufacturers.

"We have been promoting innovation and supporting companies for more than 14 years. This year we are going one step further with our awards. We want to highlight the efforts of all the organisations that work every day to overcome their own limits", says Óscar Barranco, divisional director of Easyfairs Spain and Portugal.

The award will be organised around 9 categories: Best planning and development in product launch strategy; Best technology used in the production process; Best technology used in the manufacture of composites; Best automation and robotics process; Best product testing or quality control; Best connected production chain; Best sustainable project; Best management or work team in the production chain; and Best academic, university or PhD and Postdoctoral research project.

With these categories, the Advanced Manufacturing Awards cover the entire spectrum of industry and innovation and is already one of the most comprehensive awards in its field.

How to participate

Innovations can be submitted until 17 July through the platform www.advancedmanufacturingawards.com. Each category will have two options: project and supplier. For the former, there are only two general requirements for participation: to be the creator of the product, and to have been launched on the market between 2021 and 2022. For the second, it will only be necessary to have implemented the product in the production chain. Each category will also have its own requirements, which can be consulted on the Advanced Manufacturing Madrid website.

The jury is formed, among other experts, by Javier Sirvent, technologist and researcher, and Violeta Costa, industrial engineer, expert in Industry 4.0 and head of Healthcare and Public Sector at Accenture in the Northern Zone, Antonio Pijoan, Managing Director EIT Manufacturing West and Antton Meléndez Arranz, member of the professional action committee and the governing board of the COIIB (Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros Industriales de Bizkaia) and expert in Materials, Process Simulation and Artificial Vision and Intelligence. The nominees will be announced in the first week of September and the awards will be presented during MetalMadrid, Composites and Robomática Madrid on the afternoon of 19 October.

All set for the big industrial innovation event

On 19 and 20 October, the largest annual industrial meeting in Spain will take place in Madrid, with the MetalMadrid, Composites and Robomática Madrid fairs; and its 6 transversal areas: Connected, Additive, Surface, Blech, Product Testing & Quality Control and Smart Plastics, all encompassed under the Advanced Manufacturing Madrid brand, where, once again, companies from different areas of the industrial sector, but united by technological innovation, efficiency and sustainability, will come together in one of the most important economic and professional events in the sector.

Given that last year's event attracted more than 12,600 visitors and 64,000 commercial interactions, for the 2022 edition it has been necessary to expand the space, increasing from 2 to 3 halls at the IFEMA exhibition centre to more than 38,000 m2 of floor space, thus consolidating Advanced Manufacturing as the leading sectoral event and one of the most important events for the economic and industrial development of our country. This has been recognised by the prestigious British media Exhibition News, which has awarded Advanced Manufacturing Madrid with the award for Best International Trade Show for its 2021 edition, and the AEO (Association of Event Organisers Ltd) with the nomination of the event among the finalists of its Awards.
