All acquisitions are not successful. Studies indicate that a significant percentage of mergers and acquisitions fail to achieve their intended goals, with failure rates ranging from 70% to 90%. Admatec and Formatec, two Dutch firms specializing in ceramic additive manufacturing and injection molding, are part of these percentages.
Two months after Nano Dimension announced the closure of its ceramic additive manufacturing product lines from Admatec and Formatec, the businesses have been revived by former Admatec director and co-founder Michiel de Bruijcker.
According to both companies, despite strategic ambitions, the attention for the Dutch operation gradually faded into the background when they were part of Nano Dimension.
The restart therefore marks a conscious change of course: back to local anchoring, direct management and long-term focus, with full dedication to the preservation and further development of the technological core.
Crucial to the success of the restart is the preservation of knowledge, production capacity and customer relationships. The companies continue to operate with their experienced teams, infrastructure, and technologies. Both Admatec Additive Solutions and Formatec Advanced Products have a fully integrated chain – from product development to end product – with full competence in Additive Manufacturing, CIM and post-treatment processes. This allows them to continue to serve customers worldwide with innovative custom solutions of the highest quality.
Michiel de Bruijcker: “With this new foundation, Admatec Additive Solutions and Formatec Advanced Products are ready for a future in which quality, reliability and technological advantage are of absolute essence.”
