DSH Technologies is moving to Pineville, North Carolina, to share a single facility with its sister company, Elnik Systems.
Stefan Joens is the founder and CEO of both companies. He relocated Elnik to the Pineville site in 2023. With the two companies under one roof, he aims at streamlining operations and better supporting customers across the metal parts manufacturing market.
For those who may not know them, Elnik Systems, established in 1969, engineers and manufactures industrial debinding and sintering furnaces, including its flagship AM/MIM3000 batch furnace built at the Pineville facility. Its equipment supports metal injection moulding (MIM) and metal additive manufacturing across aerospace, defense, healthcare and consumer sectors, working with both low- and high-temperature alloys.
DSH Technologies, founded in 1999, sits on the services side of the same value chain. It is a toll debinding and sintering provider that also delivers training, troubleshooting, recipe development and metallurgical guidance to MIM and metal AM companies. Led by Chief Metallurgist Bryan Sherman, the company positions itself as technology-agnostic, although it runs the full suite of Elnik equipment on behalf of its clients.
“This is another major milestone in our journey to make a greater impact on manufacturing at a global scale,” said Stefan Joens. “By consolidating these two companies under one roof, we are better equipped to serve our customers and scale both businesses while continuing to deliver the high-quality sintering capabilities and innovative solutions our customers and partners expect from us.”
Bringing furnace manufacturing (Elnik) and applied sintering services (DSH) into one location tightens the feedback loop between equipment design and real-world process development, which could shorten the path from material qualification to production-ready parts for their shared customer base.
