CECIMO, together with 10 national associations across Europe representing over 700 additive manufacturing (AM) companies, proudly presents the Manifesto for a Competitive European Additive Manufacturing (AM) Sector!
This manifesto outlines a shared vision and strategic recommendations to position Europe as a global leader in additive manufacturing. It also marks the first milestone of a new initiative called AM-Europe, operated by CECIMO — a platform designed to represent the Additive Manufacturing sector in the EU and provide a single, united voice for the industry at the European level.
Through this manifesto, the associations aim to emphasize the role of additive manufacturing in supporting the EU’s strategic priorities, including the green transition, digitalisation, re-shoring, advanced materials development, and strengthened industrial autonomy.
To maintain and strengthen Europe’s leadership, the current challenges that remain to be addressed include international competition, skills shortages, and technical barriers.
The manifesto sets out a shared vision to position Europe as a global powerhouse in AM, with strategic recommendations:
- Develop a comprehensive European AM strategy
- Support the growth of a European Additive Manufacturing ecosystem with a public private partnership
- Leverage AM to strengthen emergency response and industrial resilience
- Support skills development to build a capable and future-ready workforce
