Every year, the Eiffel Tower is part of the monuments that are appreciated by million of visitors in the romantic city of Paris.

Today, even though it remains one of the most iconic landmarks in the world, it should be noted that the layout of the site has lost a little bit of its grandeur and is not that much so attractive for people. That’s why, the City of Paris and Autodesk decided to redevelop the area surrounding the Eiffel Tower.

“The Eiffel Tower Site: discover – approach – visit.”

This is the name of the challenge launched by Paris this year. Through this competition, architects and engineers around the world will help the Paris City Council to “promote a resilient, inclusive, environmentally conscious city, while helping to develop tourism and address accessibility concerns ahead of the Summer Games in 2024.”

You certainly wonder what’s the link with the software company? — Autodesk will create a digital 3D model of the Eiffel Tower grand site as you know it now and will help the selected teams with the development and visualization of their designs.

“The 3D model will enable the City of Paris and the project management teams to design, visualize, simulate and collaborate more effectively throughout the competitive process. It will also allow the jury and the City of Paris to visualize, evaluate and understand the projects submitted by the candidate teams in 3D, and to analyse them more easily throughout the entire workflow from design to construction.”

3D technologies will enable a better visualization of the different proposals but also will facilitate the evaluation Parisians will make of them. We will witness the significant change 3D technology will bring to this iconic landmark… #StayTuned
