Sketchfab has announced that there are now over 300,000 free downloadable 3D models available on their platform. This vast 3D catalog is a resource created by Sketchfab’s community of artists, designers, cultural organisations, and brands from around the world.

Since introducing downloads in 2014, Sketchfab has become the go-to place to find free 3D assets, and also the best way for creators to publish their 3D work for other people to find, reuse and build upon.

Accessible online via Sketchfab’s website and cutting-edge 3D viewer, the same 300,000 3D models can be loaded directly into industry standard 3D apps like Substance3D, Spark AR, Unity and Unreal Engine via one of Sketchfab’s many in-app importers. Thanks to Sketchfab’s Download API It’s easy for anyone to add Sketchfab search and 3D model import into their app or online platform.

Each and every downloadable 3D model on Sketchfab is available in its original format as well as an automatically generated glTF format, which is a one size fits all file format designed to let creators move 3D files seamlessly between applications while retaining a consistent technical workflow.

All downloadable models on Sketchfab are offered under Creative Commons Attribution license, which makes clear how a 3D model can be reused and how an artist should be credited for their work.
