The 3D Printed house of Nantes welcomed its first inhabitants

In March, authorities in Nantes celebrated the inauguration of YHNOVA, the 3D printed house. Two weeks ago, the Ramdanis, a French family, have become the first to move into the house.

For Francky Trichet, the council’s lead on technology and innovation, the aim of the project is to see whether this type of construction can become an added value for housing and whether 3D printing can be applied to other communal buildings, such as sports halls.

According to Francky Trichet,For 2,000 years there hasn’t been a change in the paradigm of the construction process.” “We wanted to sweep this whole construction process away,” he says.

Nordine and Nouria Ramdani are already well settled with their three children. It’s a big change for them. If parents say it is a big honour to be part of this project, we can easily understand that for children, it is a simple move that will improve their life comfort.

Anyway, we wish them happy times in this 3D printed house.
