Rapid Application Group opened its doors 2 years ago to 3D printing – today sees a huge difference with Figure 4 Standalone 3D printer

Rapid Application Group is an additive manufacturing firm that opened its doors two years ago to the said technology. In order to provide its services, the company has been using a variety of 3D printing technologies such as SLS, stereolithography (SLA), Direct Metal Printing (DMP) and MultiJet printing (MJP).

The 3D printing service provider was looking for a specific technology to meet the demanding needs of customers in the oil and gas, aerospace and defense, motor sports, and healthcare sectors. It found in 3D Systems, a faithful partner, the ideal technology: Figure 4 Standalone.

We have recently discovered what the 3D printer is capable of in the healthcare industry. In this case, Rapid Application said that after integrating the 3D printer into its workflow (last August), it has been able to double its capacity while reducing its time-to-print process by nearly 90% – from seven hours to 45 minutes or less.

The Figure 4 Standalone – including 3D Sprint® – truly delivers as promised with outstanding ease-of-use, six sigma repeatability of production parts, and incredible speed,” commented Terry Hill, owner and CEO, Rapid Application Group. “The robust materials and injection-molding-quality surface finish, combined with very quick print times, have helped us double our capacity and throughput. We have already achieved full ROI with this one, remarkable 3D printer.”

Terry Hill is really involved in the AM industry. He aims to provide high school students the required skills to adopt this technology. His activities also include his support to disabled veterans through a ‘Veterans to Additive’ program – This certification course trains veterans on the additive manufacturing process, a technology that will definitely enable them to discover their new capacities.
