How 3D printing is used to make synthetic bones for grafts

Scientists from Northwestern University developed a solution to fabricate synthetic bones using additive manufacturing technology. Called “Hyper elastic bone”, this solution is made from elastic ceramic and enables to easily obtain the initial shape of the bone when crushed.

 

Once more, researchers have the possibility to create a custom-made synthetic bone that best meets the needs of the patient. Discover in this video, an explanation of the process:
