Filament Koil™, a new spool-less filament system?

The more 3D printing evolves, the more users need improved materials to achieve their 3D printing projects. As far as FDM technology is concerned, the manufacturer of filaments Keene Village has recently unveiled the Filament Koil™.

Keene Village Plastics new spool-less filament system allows 0.75KG, 1KG, and 5LB coils (1.75mm and 2.88mm) to be produced without the need for a spool.” Until now, it is quite to difficult to figure out how the material will look like on a machine.

Natural, White, Gray, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red, Black, Purple, and Orange are part of the colors currently available in PLA, ABS, and P-PLA materials (PETG coming soon), with the intention to have all polymer offerings available with the Koil option.

In addition to this material, the manufacturer has collaborated with Slant 3D (a 3D printing manufacturer) to develop a reusable 2-piece master spool that slips the filament on for use with 3D printers.

Keene Village Plastics Slant Reusable Spool will be available for easy download and printing, as well as available for sale. This saves money in shipping and eliminates the empty spool plastic waste.
