Vectary and The Noun Project allow designers to print icons in 3D

It is now possible to access one of the largest Open-source collections of online pictograms in the world. The Noun Project’s collaboration with Vectary enables users of the latter to import 2D icons and turn them into ready-to-print 3D models.

For the record, The Noun Project is an online library of graphic symbols that are created and shared by millions of people all over the world. Vectary on the other side is an online 3D model tool.

About 10 million downloads are already observed for more than 700 000 symbols offered. The platform has become essential for many designers around the world.

According to Vectary, “this is going to remove many of the common barriers that usually come with learning 3D model and it will help new users get on board our tool more easily. The integration of the Noun Project will also allow a younger audience to play around in VECTARY and see great, immediate results. ”

To have fun on the platform, Vectary’s users would simply need to install the plugin of Noun Project.

As for The Noun Project, a big step is made for this company which accesses for the first time to 3D printing and becomes by this way one of the first platforms of 3D files.
