FIT AG will bring 3D printing to production by purchasing EOS systems

FIT AG, a German 3D printing company invests in bringing 3D printing to production. The company just bought five EOS M 400-4 systems. They will contribute to the creation of an industrial 3D printing factory geared towards serial production.

EOS is a leading specialist in industrial additive manufacturing processes, materials and consulting. The company brings its contribution to the market in different ways: via for instance the implementation of its industry-wide quality standard, the project 3i-print or collaboration with schools and universities.

FIT AG and EOS’ agreement

This partnership with EOS will allow FIT AG to get enough components for the automotive, medical technology and aerospace sectors.

With a build volume of 400 x 400 x 400 mm, the EOS M400-4 metal 3D printing system is powered by four lasers. According to Dr. Hans Langer, EOS founder, they are working on a 3D printing platform with 10 lasers.

Regarding this investment, Carl Fruth, FIT AG CEO said, “the new generation of EOS systems not only convinced us with the outstanding quality of the components it produces, but above all with its open interfaces, which allow us to seamlessly integrate these machines in our quality assurance concepts – a further big step towards achieving the industrial-scale additive manufacturing of components.

Their ultimate goal is to provide their customers with components of premium quality from a unique source. For Carl Fruth, this objective will be achieved as they chose EOS as a “dependable partner and long-term supplier.”

As for Dr. Adrian Keppler, CEO of EOS GmbH, he declared “I am delighted that over 20 years of successful collaboration between EOS and FIT AG in the field of additive manufacturing of polymer parts are now being extended to include metal components. Carl Fruth of FIT AG is one of the most experienced pioneers in 3D printing manufacturing. We are therefore proud that he has placed his trust in EOS when it comes to establishing his AM factories. The investment in five EOS M 400-4 systems shows that our solutions are ideally suitable for an integrated large-scale AM production scenario.
