3D Scan from your Sony Xperia XZ1 and 3D Print at Sculpteo

Sculpteo and Sony will work together to connect 3D scanning and 3D Printing through the “3D Creator” application.

As far as the giant in 3D printing services is concerned, this strategic partnership just follows another one signed with ZBrush.

As for Sony, the manufacturer has already delighted many consumers with its new Xperia XZ1 phone, unveiled at IFA.

3D Creator’s functioning

With the 3D Creator application, users can experience their 3D scanning through four modes: head scan, face scan, food scan and freeform scan.

The application, free of charge is both fast and user-friendly. The scan can be shared on messenger or to the 3D community. According to experts, it is also possible to create an avatar or use the AR effects options.

Sculpteo’s service, “the cherry on the cake”

Users of Sony Xperia XZ1 could create a 360° scan in one minute via the 3D scanning app of their smartphone.

The partnership with Sculpteo, leader of 3D Printing services, enables the users to send the data files of their scanned objects to Sculpteo’s 3D Printers. Moreover, the user can be delivered no matter where he is in the world.

Users can also customize the sizes of their objects before 3D Printing. Last, the 3D scanned file is 3D printed with Sculpteo’s multicolor material.

As for the payment, it is already included in the service.
